Ignite Denver and The Compilers: New and Improved with Electrolytes!

Ignite Denver 4 is tomorrow.  If you’re a Denverite that likes to be entertained, you need to register.

Why?

1. There’s an awesome presentation lineup brewing.

2. I’ve re-written The Compilers Live Set app for 0.2.  Put it this way, new and exciting visuals, and even more libraries and shared code than before.

3. It’s gonna be at Casselmans which I hear is a pretty swank venue.

4. If you want to bring your mobile Internet device our set is going to be a most interactive experience as you have never seen before.  Hint: http://twitter.com/thecompilers

5. It’s FREE!

So, get registered and don’t miss out on this exciting good time!

Clownboat: Mac OSX, Microsoft RDC, and sending Function Keys.

I’m on my Macbook Pro and I’m using Remote Desktop Connection to connect to a remote Windows 2008 server. VMWare Server is running on that machine and I’m in the process of creating a virtualized Windows 2003 server.  The installation process is at the Accept License agreement.  I need to hit F8 to accept and continue.

I hit F8 and QOTSA starts playing in iTunes.  I hit FN+F8 and Spaces shows me a preview of my desktops.

Frustruated I open up the Remote Desktop Connection help file and can’t find anything on how to send Function keys.

I Google and find this post: http://www.mackb.com/Uwe/Forum.aspx/mac-apps/15154/Remote-Desktop-Connection-Function-Keys. I press CTRL+FN+F8 and it still doesn’t work.

Finally, I try CTRL+FN+SHIFT+F8 and that ends up being the correct key combination…

Clownboat.

Actually…looks like Remote Desktop Connection version 2 might help.  I see a new preferences panel in the screenshots with a Keyboard preferences section…downloading it now.
