Flex Debugging Techniques at WebManiacs 2008

I’ll be doing a “Flex Basics” hands-on lab and lecture on Flex debugging techniques at WebManiacs/FlexManiacs 2008. http://www.webmaniacsconference.com/

For those of you new to debugging, or wanting to fill in the gaps, these I hope will be very fun and informative sessions. Here’s the abstract for the hands-on (the lecture will be the lecture piece of the hands-on, and demos of the debugging process):

During this hands-on session you will learn about and use tools and techniques that enable Flex developers to build, debug & test Flex applications making these applications much more stable and robust. Some of the tools and techniques that will be covered during this presentation are:

  • Flex Debug Perspective: Breakpoints, Watch expressions, Code navigation
  • Flex Profiler: Memory monitoring, Performance profiling
  • Third party tools: Firebug, Tamper Data, REDbug

Here’s the official announcement from Figleaf:

The WebManiacs 2008 conference schedule has been finalized and registration is open. Early bird pricing ends Jan 31. Consisting of a two-day ColdFusion conference (“CFManiacs”) coupled with a three-day Flex conference (FlexManiacs), hosting over 70 speakers and 130 distinct topics (some of which are hands-on), WebManiacs promises to have the most comprehensive coverage of Flex, AIR, and ColdFusion at the lowest price. Seating is limited, so folks should register early in order to get into the more popular sessions.”

Hope to see you there!
